Proper preparation is critical for a successful bed bug treatment. Residual sprays require direct access to cracks, crevices, and surfaces where bed bugs hide. Please follow this checklist carefully to ensure the best results and the safety of your household.
Wash & Dry: Wash all clothing, bed linens, and curtains in hot water.
High Heat: Dry all items on high heat for at least 45 minutes. The heat from the dryer is what kills the life stages of the bed bugs.
Storage: Immediately place cleaned items in new garbage bags or sealed plastic containers. Do not use the same bags used to transport dirty laundry.
Clear the Floor: Remove all clutter from all rooms, focusing heavily on bedrooms and living areas.
Storage Units: Empty all dresser drawers, nightstands, and closets. Place these items in sealed bags or containers.
Bookshelves: Empty bookshelves and other storage units located near the treatment areas.
Wall Clearance: Move all furniture at least 12 inches (1 foot) away from the walls to allow the technician to treat the baseboards.
Bed Prep: Stand mattresses and box springs upright against the wall. This exposes the bed frame and provides access to all sides of the box spring and mattress.
Wall Decor: Remove pictures, mirrors, and wall decorations.
Electronics: Unplug all electronics in the rooms being treated.
Thorough Clean: Vacuum mattresses, furniture, and all floors thoroughly.
Safe Disposal: Discard vacuum bags immediately in a sealed plastic bag and place them in an outdoor trash bin. For bagless vacuums, wash the canister with hot, soapy water.
Stuffed Toys: Place in the dryer on high heat for 40–45 minutes. Do not wash if they are heat-sensitive, but the dryer cycle is necessary.
Baby Items: Wash crib linens and baby toys in hot water and dry on high heat.
Aquariums: Cover fish tanks tightly with plastic wrap and turn off air pumps during the treatment.
Vacate Premises: All occupants, including pets, must vacate the home during the treatment and remain out for at least 6 hours after the service is completed.
Safety First: Ensure all windows are closed unless otherwise instructed by your technician.
Re-entry: Do not re-enter the home until the full 6-hour window has passed to ensure the product has dried completely.
No Cleaning: Avoid cleaning or mopping treated areas (especially baseboards) for at least 10 days. This allows the residual product to continue working as bed bugs emerge.
Sealed Items: Avoid opening your sealed laundry bags or containers until the treatment process is confirmed complete.
Product Used: Temprid SC (PCP # 32524)
Action: This is a professional-grade residual insecticide. While highly effective, if you or your pets experience any unusual sensitivity, seek medical assistance immediately.
