Daniel came to my place for a re-treatment for ants. He was punctual, friendly and very efficient! Thanks to him and Technica for standing by their warranty on any necessary follow up treatments!!
I called first thing this morning and they were able to send someone out same day. Daniel came to exterminate some bees. Showed up on time. Super helpful and knowledgeable. While he was here he also sprayed for ants around parts of the property. If needed I will call back again for more pest control.
Ants are one of the most common pests in Edmonton. While they may seem harmless at first, ant infestations can spread quickly and become difficult to manage. Colonies often number in the thousands, and once ants establish trails inside a home or business, they return relentlessly in search of food and water. At Technica Pest Solutions, we provide professional ant extermination in Edmonton, using targeted treatments to eliminate colonies and prevent future invasions.
Edmonton’s climate plays a major role in ant activity:
Spring and summer activity: As temperatures rise, ants become highly active, often moving indoors in search of food.
Long winters: Colonies survive underground during Edmonton’s cold months, but infestations return each year as the weather warms.
Urban development: Construction and landscaping can disturb nests, driving ants into nearby homes and businesses.
This seasonal cycle makes ants one of the most persistent pests for Edmonton residents.
Ants are social insects that work together in large numbers. Common warning signs include:
Long trails of ants leading to food sources.
Small piles of dirt or soil near foundations, indicating nest entrances.
Winged ants inside during spring, which may signal a larger colony nearby.
Ants frequently appearing in kitchens, bathrooms, and basements.
If you notice these signs in your Edmonton property, the infestation is likely larger than what you see on the surface.
Technica Pest Solutions follows a proven approach to ant control tailored to Edmonton conditions:
Inspection – We identify entry points, trails, and nesting areas.
Treatment – Targeted applications are used to eliminate entire colonies, not just visible ants.
Prevention – We provide recommendations for sealing entry points and reducing conditions that attract ants.
This process ensures long-lasting results and peace of mind for homeowners and businesses.
Edmonton is home to several ant species, each requiring different control methods:
Pavement Ants: Often found along sidewalks, driveways, and basements.
Carpenter Ants: Larger ants that can damage wood by tunneling through it to build nests.
Pharaoh Ants: Small ants that establish colonies indoors, especially in warm buildings.
Accurate identification is important for selecting the most effective treatment.
Property Damage: Carpenter ants can weaken wooden structures.
Food Contamination: Ants invade pantries, cupboards, and kitchens.
Difficult DIY Control: Store-bought sprays kill only visible ants but do not reach the colony.
Rapid Growth: Colonies can grow into thousands of ants, making infestations harder to manage.
In Edmonton, ant problems are not just seasonal nuisances—they can become long-term infestations without proper control.
We start by identifying the ant species and locating the source of the infestation, whether it’s inside your home or coming from outdoor colonies. Our technicians use a combination of targeted treatments such as professional-grade baits, residual sprays, and barrier applications to eliminate ants at the source. We also focus on entry points and high-traffic areas to ensure lasting results. In addition, we provide recommendations to prevent future infestations, such as sealing cracks, removing food sources, and reducing moisture around the property.
Yes. All of our treatments are designed with safety in mind. We use products that are approved by Health Canada and apply them in targeted areas where pests live and travel, not where your family spends time. When needed, we may recommend keeping pets and children out of treated areas until products have dried—usually just a short time. Our goal is to eliminate pests effectively while keeping your home safe for your loved ones.
Preparation requirements depend on the type of treatment being performed. If preparation is needed, we will provide you with a detailed prep sheet and walk you through the steps to ensure everything is clear before the service.
It’s normal to see some activity for a short period after treatment, as pests come into contact with the products and move out of their hiding places. This typically decreases within a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the pest type. If you continue to notice significant activity after the expected timeframe, we’ll work with you to reassess and, if needed, provide follow-up service under your warranty.
